Why Therapy?

As wonderful as it may be, life can be confusing and difficult.

The pace of today’s lifestyle does not allow us to stop and look at the bigger picture, see ourselves with fresh eyes or find creative ways to resolve conflicts.

Therapy provides a safe environment where people can do this by discussing, analysing and interpreting past and present issues. In some situations therapy may be task-orientated and focused, whereas in others it may be more exploratory in nature.

Therapy might also address the unconscious thoughts and feelings of a client to help provide insight into his or her actions and behaviours. Unresolved issues from the past, particularly childhood, may be addressed in this manner.

Therapy is not simply limited to the examples above. Any life circumstances or events that affect, or have affected, a client’s mental well-being, adjustment or coping skills might present themselves as issues during the process.
